Observing and Celebrating Nature

You are welcome to see my most recent works in person at The Leslie Powell Art Gallery in Lawton OK, November, Tuesday 17th thru Friday December 18th, 2026.  "Passing Through," is an art exhibit with works by Kelly Pennington & Karla Brady.  The works is a celebration of place, light, memory, and the shared experience of seeing.  Opening Reception for the public will be Saturday, November 14, 2026. Observing nature is my way of appreciating the beauty in the world. Through painting, I explore the Oklahoma landscape—its shifting seasons, expansive skies, weathered trees with quiet structures

I am drawn to the subtle drama of ordinary places and simple moments—those fleeting conditions of light, movement, and atmosphere that often go unnoticed. My expressive mark-making grows out of an intuitive response to what I observe, allowing emotion and gesture to shape the work as much as representation. I am interested in capturing not only how a landscape looks, but how it feels: alive, changing, and deeply connected to memory, presence, and place.

Thank You for visiting my website. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
